The beginnings of the Piano Shop go back to 1978 when owners Mr Lim and Mr Tan were young piano technicians. They met when they were hired to take care of 110 pianos that has been left by the Japanese during the era of Japan conquering Malaysia. .
Lim has worked full-time in the piano business since 1976. He moved to KL from Johor in 1984 where he established Lim Piano Trading Entperise, a full service piano business, which became one of the most productive piano sales, service and restoration workshops in Selangor, where Tan received extensive training at Steinway & Sons Park Royal London workshop and has presented classes at the European Piano Technicians Guild’s national convention.
As a concert tuner and technician, he has serviced instruments for the Royal Orchestra and the and has prepared concert Grand piano for world renowned pianists including Alfred Brendel, Yiruma, Jay Chou, Mitsuko Uchida.
Tan moved back to the Malaysia in 1993 where he worked for Steinway of San Francisco before moving back to his home town of Tanjung Karang. In 1994, The duos has partner up again with Lim’s son David selling and servicing pianos throughout the state.
Both the families serve the lord and in the 20s, The third generation has taken up the duty and responsibility to serve not only just Malaysia market but Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam.
