1. The limited NS Series !

NS series is one of the very limited series produced by kawai in 1985-1995, as there are only a few models released unlike BL series. NS10, NS15 are the most commonly seen model in NS series but there are also NS15M, NS25, NS35 in the house.

NS series is newer than US series. It was released at the same time with KSF series, which we find many similar characteristic under both series. However, NS series are considered more precious as the model are very limited. Therefore, it has got better resale value.

2. Specification

Kawai ns15 dimension is 125(H) x 153(W) x 61(D) cm. Weight: 220kg.

Kawai uses SITKA wood as the backpost of the piano to ensure durability and tuning stability. Furthermore,  the soundboard are heat crowned to spruce ribs arranged in Kawai’s exclusive radial fan pattern, which will free up more sound board area for the best acoustic response.

The hammer are 100% virgin wool without double felted. The iron cast frame is in rose gold color which is the same as being used by US, KSF, BS series.

One thing we noticed is that NS15 has got 2 batches of production, the one that produced later uses positive screw and the action material are also slightly different.

3. Tonality and Voicing

The tone of the NS15 is always stable, steady and slightly brighter in the treble register. However, this model tend to have double knocking if the catcher buckskin were worn off. But dont worry as we will always replace the buckskin for all the NS series ya.
